Thanksgiving Weekend

Bouquet from Famer’s Market
So, who else is still eating pumpkin pie for breakfast?
We had such a great long weekend.  It was a little weird not getting together with family, it was just us this year, but we created our own traditions.  Thanksgiving morning we hit Starbucks and went down to the beach for a walk, it was beautiful out – sunny and just a little bit cool.  We watched the sandpipers race ahead of us and talked about what we were thankful for.  Nature even seemed to be celebrating, we saw some rays breaching (jumping out of the water) not far from shore.
We cooked together with football on in the background.  He made fresh green bean casserole which isn’t something I ever had growing up, and now we gotta have it every year it’s so good.
We’re slowly making it through the leftovers, but this year I’m not going to be posting any “Leftover” recipes because I’m so ready for CHRISTMAS!!  We participated in Small Business Saturday heading to main street with Watson on his leash and had such a great time.  The city has their holiday decorations up already and we sat out on the sidewalk at a tiny table in front of a cafe and had lunch.  I can’t put into words how much I enjoyed having the time this weekend with my guy and pup, there was something very special about it.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and weekend!  I’m so thankful for everyone who stops by my little blog :) you make it fun to do!!

You described one of my favorite ways to spend any weekend: a dog, good food, a sidewalk or beach and a cafe. It sounds so nice Abby. Glad you enjoyed you´re thanksgiving, sometimes it´s good to break traditions and make new ones.

Oh my goodness, this post just made me realize that I didn’t get to have green bean casserole this year! I guess I’ll have to make it one night soon :)
