Blogiversary {Year 2}

Fox Tracks

the mysterious fox tracks

With school finishing up and then the hustle and bustle of the season, I completely forgot that on Dec. 5th my little blog turned 2.  I have loved every minute of it, the ups, the downs, the curve-balls and mostly the fact the every time I post I’m going way out of my comfort zone and in doing so, allowing the opportunity for something new and wonderful to happen to me.

Having this blog has gifted me the opportunity to develop a part of myself that I hid for a really long time.  Well,  I thought I was hiding it, haha but I’m pretty sure everyone around me knew it was there and just waited until I had the courage to share.  Sharing my creativity, my perspective on life, who I am even…is was terrifying for me.  Anytime I felt like I went out of the carefully safe box I put myself in, I waited for my world to come crashing down.  My heart raced, I couldn’t sleep, my mind played out the terrible things that could possibly happen…but the sun came out.  I laughed a little more, I played a little more, and nothing catastrophic ever happened.  The normal crummy parts of life came and went, but nothing unusual.  And the more I let out, the more I wanted to let out.

That’s why this degree in Graphic Design is so important to me (and I talk about it all the time).  It’s my way of saying, hey world, I’m Abby, I’m here to do this thing.  I’m not afraid anymore.  Okay…sometimes I am, but it doesn’t stop me from doing what I want to do.  As for the blog, I think as time goes on I’ll be posting more lifestyle and design posts, with only a few recipes sprinkled in because, well, that’s where my life is going right now.

Beautiful Things

Thank you for reading, for stopping by here during your day, it means the world to me.  I can’t wait to share more with you!  And so I’ll end this with the wise words of a man who left this world a better place than he found it…
